If you do not know whether your project requires a material with fines or not, use the following information to help determine the right material for your needs. FINES are the small materials that either occur naturally, or are crushed into smaller sizes. Technically, fines are all material that pass through a sieve with 4.75 millimeter holes (approximately 1/5 of an inch).
